Skincare. Woman with beautiful face touching healthy facial skin.

Tired of seeing an older-looking you staring back at you in the mirror? A facelift may be the perfect solution. This celebrated cosmetic procedure aims to refresh and rejuvenate your appearance, instilling newfound confidence and vitality.

We at Texas Facial Aesthetics will guide you through every step of this rejuvenating journey.

The Facelift Procedure

Undergoing a facelift usually requires general anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety from beginning to end. This is because the procedure involves making strategic incisions starting at the hairline, extending around the ears, and ending in the lower scalp area.

The next step involves tightening the facial skin to achieve a fresher, more vibrant look. Any excess skin is removed, and facial contours may be refined. Following these enhancements, we will close the incisions using appropriate methods tailored to the procedure’s specifics.

What to Expect Before, During, and After the Procedure

Before your surgery, you’ll need to undergo a medical evaluation and potentially take lab tests to help you properly prepare for the procedure. We may instruct you to stop taking certain medications and avoid using skincare products before your procedure.

On the day of your surgery, you’ll need to arrange some assistance–from driving you to our practice to helping you with chores at home for a few days. The duration of a facelift varies but typically ranges from three to six hours, based on individual aesthetic requirements. Post-surgery, we’ll give you detailed instructions for a smooth recovery.

Also, expect several follow-up appointments to monitor your healing process, during which we might document the transformation through photos.

Recovery Tips

Following the procedure, you’ll need to follow the facelift recovery instructions that we’ve provided you to ensure your safety and optimal results from the procedure. You can expect to have a bandage on the incision sites for the first week following your surgery. In about five to ten days after the surgery, the sutures will be removed.

Patients will experience swelling and bruising for one to two weeks following their facelift procedure. It’s not uncommon to have trouble opening your mouth for the first several days, and you may feel numb around the incision sites. Most patients will recover within four to six weeks. The permanent result of your facelift surgery will be visible in about six months post-op.
