Who is Dr. Matthew Richardson?
Dr. Matthew Richardson is a double board-certified and fellowship-trained Facial Plastic Surgeon and Hair Restoration Surgeon. Born in Dallas and raised in Richardson, Texas, he then went on to pursue an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Science and also earned a Certificate in Leadership Study and Development. While he was at Texas A&M, he earned several academic awards, was a member of the Corps of Cadets, and held numerous leadership positions in The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Richardson moved to Houston and attended the University of Texas Medical School, where he was recognized as the outstanding surgical medical student and became enamored with facial plastic surgery.
Background
Dr. Richardson was then selected to complete a five year head and neck surgical residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Richardson was selected to join the prestigious medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He also served as Chief Resident, received the Academic Award for the highest score on the annual in-service examination, and was a two-time recipient of the Mary Manasco Spirit Award as the most outstanding resident for his hard work, leadership skills, and professionalism during his surgical training. Upon graduation, Dr. Richardson was selected through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to join Dr. Daniel Rousso in Birmingham, Alabama as his fellow in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Hair Restoration Surgery. During his year with Dr. Rousso, Dr. Richardson was able to perfect his techniques of cosmetic rejuvenation of the face, nose, neck, and scalp, as well as advanced hair transplantation, hairline lowering, and hair restoration techniques. After his fellowship, Dr. Richardson returned to Texas to establish Texas Facial Aesthetics.
Dr. Richardson’s research has been presented at local, national, and international meetings more than a dozen times, and he has 9 scientific publications. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Richardson holds full hospital privileges at Medical City Frisco and Medical City Plano. He is an affiliate clinical faculty member and instructor for the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Richardson and his sons are avid golfers. He also enjoys supporting his hometown Dallas sports teams, camping, hiking, and traveling with his family across the country and beyond. He lives in Frisco with his wife and three sons.
