Jeuveau™ (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) – also being marketed as #NEWTOX (a new version of Botox® but made by a different company) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a period of time (temporary).

Like Botox®, Xeomin® and Dysport®, Jeuveau™ is commonly used for cosmetic purposes to treat wrinkles and fine lines of the forehead, glabella (between the eyebrows), lateral orbital areas (crow’s feet), and lateral nasal areas (bunny lines). In select patients, Jeuveau™ can also be used to improve down-turned corners of the mouth, vertical banding of muscles in the neck, and wrinkling of the lower eyelids and chin areas.

Injecting Jeuveau™ precisely into specific facial muscles allows the muscles in that area to relax and the wrinkles of the overlying skin to smooth out. Jeuveau™ does not change the appearance or movement of untreated facial areas, and patients can continue to make natural facial expressions. The injections are performed in just a few minutes during an office visit.

Most people start seeing results after just two to three days, with maximum effects by about day 7-10. The effects typically last three to four months before the treatment starts to wear off, and the treatment is usually repeated in order to maintain the results, similar to Botox® and the other well known neuromodulators listed above.
