This woman had undergone thyroidectomy and left neck dissection for treatment of thyroid cancer and was left with an undesirable left neck scar. Approximately 18 months after her surgery she underwent a single fractional CO2 laser treatment, which helped to flatten and reduce the hyperpigmentation of the scar. These pictures demonstrate the result approximately one month after this initial treatment, and she can expect to see continued improvement with subsequent CO2 laser treatments performed at approximately 6-week intervals.
