Background
Dr. Cain is a fellowship-trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. A native Texan, he began the journey toward this rewarding profession at Texas A&M University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Science. During his undergraduate studies, he was twice named to the Dean’s Honor Roll and was nominated for the National Dean’s List. After graduation, he attended The University of Texas Medical School in Houston, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the only nationally recognized honor medical society and a distinction awarded to medical students in the top 15% of their class.
Upon graduation, Dr. Cain was accepted into a competitive five year head and neck surgical residency program in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the West Virginia University Health Sciences Center. He was involved in several research projects throughout his time in residency and received the Sobisca S. Hall Award for Best Resident Research Presentation, as well as an award for research presented during Graduate Medical Education Week. During his final residency year, he served as Chief Resident. Following completion of residency, Dr. Cain was selected for a Fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a privilege granted each year to less than 50 surgeons in the nation. He had the fortune of spending his fellowship training under Dr. Devinder Mangat, an internationally-recognized authority in facial plastic surgery and past-president of both the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Working with Dr. Mangat allowed Dr. Cain to gain tremendous expertise in all aspects of both surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the face, nose, head and neck.
Dr. Cain has presented at mulitple local, national, and international meetings, and he has published work in both medical textbooks and academic journals. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is passionate about using the skills he has acquired to provide care for the underprivileged, and he has served on medical expeditions to international locations including India and Belize, where he performed dozens of reconstructive procedures for the correction of issues such as nasal trauma and obstruction, cleft lip and palate, microtia (malformation of the ear), and a variety of congenital head and neck deformities. He intends to continue this fulfilling practice throughout the duration of his career.
Dr. Cain lives in Plano and enjoys spending his time outdoors running, cycling, and playing golf and soccer.
