Laser Vein Removal
Vascular lesions are the result of numerous or large vessels that form directly underneath the skin. This usually results in a red appearance in the skin since the vessels can be visible through the skin. These lesions occur in a variety of forms including port wine stains, broken capillaries, hemangiomas, and cherry angiomas.
Small vascular lesions can often be removed in a single treatment, while other lesions may take several treatments to become less visible or resolve completely. We utilize a 1064nm long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser to remove vascular lesions quickly and safely. Lesions on the face, neck, scalp, and upper body respond best to laser vein removal or removal of other vascular lesions, but leg veins can be treated as well. Leg veins that are relatively small and close to the skin’s surface respond best to laser treatments.
The video below illustrates the removal of a small vascular lesion using our laser in just a few seconds. After the laser collapses the vessel, the lesion turns dark due to the coagulation of the red blood cells, and the body will absorb the vessel over the next several weeks. This treatment usually does not require any anesthesia, and often only one treatment is required.
